Amanda Peet runs some errands around Los Angeles Friday afternoon. Funny Lady Amanda went to a picture framer before going to her alteration tailor. She was wearing a loose grey t-shirt and a pair of black trousers.

The Hollywood Reporter successfully does its job and reports that The Visitor writer/director Thomas McCarthy has landed a role in Rolan Emmerich’s upcoming apocalyptic movie 2012. He will play the new boyfriend of Amanda Peet’s character – the ex-wife of the lead character played by John Cusack.

The film will begin shooting this August in Vancouver. Thandie Newtown, Danny Glover and Oliver Platt are also set to star. McCarthy is also working on a new script that he hopes to direct.

Amanda Essence has her 2nd Anniversary. So thank you for the previous owner (Will) That start everything. And thanks for Gertie for hosting it. And all the fans that keep visiting, and of course Amanda Peet for existing. I hope you still keep up with the site, because Amanda Essence is growing and growing every day. Anyway I decide to make a big A Lot Like Love Update since this is the movie that most people recognize Amanda, also one of my favorites.

Amanda Peet, we were looking for somebody who had Gillian’s gravity and intelligence and authority to be this really strong, smart, capable young FBI agent commanding this manhunt. We had been watching her on “Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip” and thought she was the perfect person for this, so that was easy. Xzibit was just discovered in casting. We had no clue. As it turned out, he had done a rap song that mentioned The X-Files.
